When building a team how do you choose your team members? What do you look for in a team member?

For most in network marketing pick or choosing a team member is an unheard of practice. Most companies are all about getting the sign up. I was with one company that taught if they can write a check and can fog a mirror it means they are a good prospect for the team. After a few years of a revolving door team, having as many folks leaving as joining, I realize that there had to be more to building a team than getting the sign up.
